What I Know Now vs. 8 Weeks Ago

When I started this eight-week journey, both in study and in training, I didn’t realize how similar the two would feel. Learning how intelligence works, how systems adapt, fail, and recalibrate, mirrors what I’ve done in my runs since June. Every session, from easy miles to threshold pushes, has been a feedback loop: input, response, adjustment. Just like how neural nets learn, I’ve trained through trial and error, tuning myself for performance.
That moment when effort meets purpose, when all the quiet miles, the long weeks of grind, and the doubts finally make sense. Like Chris in Pursuit of Happyness, we all chase something, and sometimes, the finish line isn’t a place, but a moment of becoming.
Today’s 70-minute easy run followed by a 20-minute push was more than just prep for the Milo Marathon, it was proof of alignment. The process worked. I’ve learned to balance effort and restraint, just as intelligent systems must balance exploration and control. Seeing Tom and Jake (which I didn’t noticed it was him til i saw Tom’s IG story that it was him. Haha ✌️) at Magarao reminded me that running, like building intelligence, isn’t solitary; it’s built on shared data, collective energy.
The finish line isn’t a place, but a moment of becoming.
Eight weeks ago, I wanted to “understand” intelligence. Now, I see it as a rhythm, a living system that learns, adapts, and grows, just like we do when we run. As taper week begins, I’m not just preparing my body for race day; I’m testing what it means to trust the process, whether in running or in how we teach systems to think.
