Today’s adventure felt like stepping into a dream: misty and absolutely soul-recharging.

We began our hike around 6:30 AM at the base of Anoling in Camalig, Albay, and right away, the trail invited us in with its mix of sandy paths, lush greens, and a series of gentle gullies that kept us on our toes.

We moved as a merry mix of familiar faces and new friends: Diehike, Ge, Stace, Tin, and I teamed up with Albay Trail Maniacs, Dave, Makki, Shield, Peewee, and Ervin, who graciously led the way through their home turf.

The early morning was wrapped in thick fog, especially when we reached Radar. It instantly transported us to what felt like a Baguio postcard, mist creeping through the towering trees and coconut palms, silhouettes walking silently, the world hushed and peaceful.
WWe all paused, just to soak in the mood. It was ethereal, almost cinematic.

As we left Radar behind and transitioned to the Brown Forest and Green Lava trails, the fog lifted a bit but the vibe stayed just as stunning. The ascent kept our legs working and our hearts pumping, but the fair weather and cloudy skies gave us the perfect hiking conditions: no intense heat, just enough challenge and reward. Even the humidity around 7 AM couldn’t dampen our spirits; instead, it made the refreshing breeze on higher ground even more satisfying.

The trail was scenic in every sense: raw, varied, and beautiful. From brown volcanic earth to stretches of mossy green, each turn offered a new texture underfoot and new frames to capture in memory.

We wrapped up just past 11:30 AM, sweaty and absolutely glowing with gratitude. Personally, I felt recharged, thankful for the trail, the company, and the kindness of the Albay Trail Maniacs who made this entire morning feel like a guided gift from nature.

No funny moments this time, just a steady, soul-cleansing, joy-filled climb through fog and forest.

In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.
